fever的另一個意思是“一時的狂熱”,是不可數名詞,多與介詞of連用。

表示一般“發燒”,用have fever和have a fever都可以,但在加上表示種類、程度的定語時,通常要加不定冠詞a; 而在其前有表示病名的形容詞時,通常不加a。試比較:

她死於出血熱。

fever, heat

這兩個詞的共同意思是“熱”“熱度”。其區別在於:
